Paper Preparation

Papers should be prepared with LaTeX. The files paper.ps and paper.tex can be used to get started.

Slides with LaTex

The files muster_folien.ps and muster_folien.tex can be used to get started.

Slides with TeXPower

• Download texpower-0.0.9d.tgz
• Unpack and
• install texpower
  
  • as described in the file texpower-0.0.9d/01install.txt
  or
  • locally in your $HOME/.TeX/ directory (if it exists) by copying the files powersem.cls texpower.sty tpcolors.cfg tpoptions.cfg tpsettings.cfg contrib/config.landscapeplus addons/*.sty to ~/.TeX/
• Then replace the files tpcolors.cfg tpsettings.cfg powersem.cls by those in our configuration package texpower-config.tgz
• Install the files pdfslides.sty abakus.eps abakus.pdf lea-logo.eps lea-logo.pdf either locally or globally (like step 1)
• Run the the testfile:
  latex pdfslides.tex
  dvips -o pdfslides.ps pdfslides.dvi
  ps2pdf pdfslides.ps pdfslides.pdf
  acroread pdfslides.pdf
  Alternatively:
  pdflatex pdfslides.tex
  acroread pdfslides.pdf
  

• Most packages should be included in your LaTeX distribution. It works with teTeX (standard at least on Linux). Otherwise, you can get missing packages from CTAN. An online search interface is available at: Dante/CTAN

  Enter the pacakge name that is missing, i.e. "pstricks". This yields the directories where to find the package, here "graphics/pstricks/" Connect via ftp to ftp.dante.de set the mode to binary and go to the parent directory (here "/pub/tex/graphics/"). You can then retrieve the whole subdirectory with
  get .tgz
  or
  get .zip
  (here "get pstricks.tgz").

Further alternatives for slides

Any other alternative that produces PDF-presentations can be used. Prosper is a widely used seminar replacement.
